Today on DelmarvaLife:

The town of Bethany Beach is running a contest for photographs taken in the town. Photos will be selected for the 2018-2019 annual calendar and widespread town marketing efforts. Photos can be of any season, any event or any memory as long as they represent Bethany Beach. The contest is open to both amateur and professionals.  Please crop photos to fit a 10 x 7 space before sending, otherwise, they will crop to fit the available space. All participants will have their names put into a pool to win the Grand Prize of a 2018 VIP parking pass good for free parking at any space within town limits during the summer season. Those whose photos are selected will also receive photo credit and possible placement in the 2018/2019 Bethany Beach calendar (along with a free copy of the calendar). The entry deadline is January 15th. Email photos in jpeg form to jmalewski@townofbethanybeach.com. Please do not put them in the body.

Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the law that prohibits discrimination in the sale and rental of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap. The Coastal Association of Realtors is encouraging local teachers and students to participate in the Annual Fair Housing art contest, which sends winning students to Annapolis for a meeting with the governor or other state officials. Joel Maher is the president of the coastal association of realtors. He joins us, along with Lindsay Birckhead-Morton.

We talk about an event that celebrates local talent while helping people on Delmarva who need it the most. “HeartStrings” is doing so much to bring Delmarva together. Here to tell us more about it is Dawn Drzewicki, who is the commander of the Rehoboth VFW post 7447 and Lori Jacobs is with the band “Bettenroo.”

And, of course, we can’t talk about “Heartstrings” without getting a preview – so we’re head to the Mid-South Audio stage with Lori Jacobs and Anne Davey of Bettenroo!
