Today on DelmarvaLife –

For more than 30 years, heart patients or patients who are at risk for heart problems have been participating in something called Cardiac Rehab. It’s part of the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation and preventative cardiology department at PRMC. Lisa recently made a visit and found out this program has led to much more than recovery, it’s sent some patients to a whole new level of fitness and gained them some life-long friendships along the way.

Every life matters. That’s the mantra of Susanne Hoshino of Berlin and “Kindness Matters Rescue.” Each year, she rescues hundreds of cats and dogs that might not otherwise have a chance at a better life. DelmarvaLife’s Lisa Bryant visited Susanne and saw, first hand, how her kind and gentle nature can bring an animal from the brink of death to a loving family.

Ocean City Elementary participated in the National Kids Heart Challenge. Your Doc’s In was a proud local sponsor of the event. More than 200 kids participated in heart-healthy activities such as jumping rope, playing hopscotch and shooting hoops, all as part of a celebration of learning about health and helping others in the community with heart and stroke issues. DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield sat down with Dr. Walter Gianelle to learn more.
