We’ll hear how this “home away from home” offers peace of mind to our heroes, and how you can be a part of it.

The Flying Fruitcake Event is on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Save your fruitcakes and celebrate their demise at their inaugural day of Flying Fruitcake Fun! Drop, toss, heave, and play field games. There will also be Live music from Double Nickels! Entry is a donation to the Maryland Food Bank. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum‘s Director Of Education, Jill Ferris, joins us today to tell us more about their initiative to do away with “Single-use plastic.” It’s being implemented in collaboration with the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Ct., with a goal to provide a benchmark for other maritime museums and their communities to replicate.
