On Saturday, people around the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing and the moon walk. It was a pivotal moment in American history. Today is another anniversary. It was fifty years ago today that Apollo 11 came back to earth. It was no easy task. Someone who knows that first hand is Jack Clemons who is a retired aerospace engineer and lead engineer on NASA’s Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs. Jack is also the author of the book, “Safely to Earth: The Men and Women who Brought the Astronauts Home.”
Jack Clemons is also helping with a program at the Lewes Public Library called “A Universe of Stories.” As Adult Program Coordinator, Rebecca Lowe explains today, the program is designed to help inspire children of all ages to dream big, believe in themselves, and create their own story. This summer learning program also coincides with NASA’s 60 years of achievement and its celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. guitar that will be auctioned off to benefit Benedictine’s annual fundraising event.
