Today on DelmarvaLife –

Over these past few months, many of us experienced something we’ve never experienced before: home confinement. We were unable to visit restaurants, go shopping, or visit with family and friends. Imagine being a resident of an assisted living facility, nursing home or long term care facility – where you count on family and friends to visit on a regular basis. That’s why one local woman started a project, “Hope Writers.” We talk with Rochelle Salmon of Bridgeville, to find out more about the project and how we can get involved.

Over these past few months, we’ve seen a lot of good happening on Delmarva. So much so, that we dedicated a segment on Fridays to talk about all the good. Today, we’re shedding a light on another organization doing good right in our own backyard. 102-5 Corey’s Phoebus talks with Avery Hall Insurance and Operation We Care to find out how they’re helping Delmarva.

Yesterday, we talked with Linda Torelli of the Brandywine Valley SPCA to find out how they’re rescuing animals affected by recent hurricanes. One of the best ways to help is by rescuing the rescues! We have some lovable dogs and cats (and even a guinea pig) ready to go their fur-ever homes in today’s Pet Connect.
It all started when he got a hand-me-down Nikon Camera from his father, famous wildlife photographer Kevin Flemming. At the young age of thirteen, Kevin Flemming developed a passion for photography. Although Jay’s father’s influence was huge, Jay created a photographic style that is entirely his own. Today, we talk with Jay to find out how he developed his own style and how’s had to rethink photography since COVID.

We’ve talked about some of the summer activities you can do safely this summer like, getting out on the water with Pocomoke River Cruises or hanging with the Ocean City Beach Patrol. Also, we’ve covered how to keep yourself cool this summer with clothing. But above all we know there is one thing that is unmatched in the summer: ice cream. Nothing quite like getting a cone after spending the day in the heat. Today we talk with our friends at Island Creamery to find out about some of their new summer flavors.
Delmarva is creating a new mural in Crisfield that honors dedicated seafood workers, combating COVID by wearing a mask with a meaning, and celebrating a K9 retirement after 6 years on the job. We have another round of “All That is Good.”
