Today on DelmarvaLife –

heroes

It’s important to thank our veterans, and sometimes, it’s important to go the extra mile. Students from the Wicomico County School District recently went above and beyond to honor sixteen veterans from the Vietnam War. Each veteran now has a book about them. WBOC’s Heidi Werosta went to North Salisbury Elementary School to see what the students did to honor our heroes. If you’re interested in learning more about the books, or even purchasing one, click here.

convoy

Next month, the Convoy of Hope is making a stop in Dover to help transform people’s lives. It does that by visiting different communities across the nation and giving out free groceries, offering free health and dental screenings, taking free family portraits, and so much more. We learn more about why the Convoy of Hope is so important.

Pinwheels Shore Games

Kids at schools across Delmarva get to celebrate the end of the school year with field day. This weekend, you can participate in a field day for adults. Pinwheels Shore Games is a first of its kind event being put on by the Life Crisis Center‘s Pinwheels for Protection. Life Crisis Center Development Associate Courtney Geiser, and Olympia Fitness owner Courtney Moore tell us more.

FS POWER WASHING

We have a few weeks left of spring and spring cleaning. That may include power washing your house, but should you? There’s another way that doesn’t risk tearing up the materials on the side of your house. It’s called “softwashing.” WBOC’s Heidi Werosta met up with the owners of F&S Powerwashing to see how it works.

countertops

Solid surface countertops make any home look new and updated, but many homeowners think they may be too expensive. According to the folks at Royal Granite and Marble, that’s not the case anymore. In fact, the selection at Royal Granite and Marble in Salisbury is so big, there’s something for every price range. We visited the showroom to see the rare colors that only they offer.

Delicious meals prepared by local chefs, and they can all pull double duty. Not only will they provide you with a full belly, but they may help support people on Delmarva, who need it most. Community Outreach Coordinator with the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, Caroline Phillips; and Resource Development Manager Stacy McMichael tell us about “Dine and Stay United.”
