Today on DelmarvaLife:
With hurricane season fast approaching, it’s important to be prepared for whatever happens. David Shipley, director of emergency services in Wicomico County, and WBOC’s chief meteorologist, Dan Satterfield, join Jimmy and Lisa to talk about predictions for the upcoming season, tools to help in preparing, and the importance of an emergency kit.
May is stroke awareness month. Dr. Richard Bird, a neurologist at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, provides information on the preventative killer. He informs us of symptoms of a stroke, the importance of early prevention, and who is at risk for the killer that will account for 140,000 deaths this year alone.
We all know the importance of going in to get screened for certain types of illnesses. But, sometimes it can be hard to find the time to get them done. Peninsula Regional Medical Center is making it easier than ever to get them done with their Wagner Wellness Van. DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield caught up with the van in Salisbury to learn more about the services they provide.
It wouldn’t be Friday here on DelmarvaLife without some sweet tunes to welcome us into the weekend. Today, we welcome Hedera to the Mid South Audio stage! The band of five friends share with us where they get their influence from and where they hope to see themselves in five years. Be sure to tune in to jam out with us!
