It’s been 4 months since Fruitland Police Officer, Spencer Wiersberg, passed away from cancer. Throughout his cancer journey, a group of people, called “Wiersberg Warriors” rallied behind him and his family, to support them however needed. Today, we check in with Spencer’s Mother, Gerrie, to see how she’s doing. We also check in with Operation We Care Founder, Jeff Merritt, to discuss how Wiersberg Warriors are continuing Spencer’s legacy even in the midst of COVID-19.

While, many of our parks are still closed and outdoor activities have restrictions, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources continues to educate about nature. Today, we talk with Education and Outreach Specialist with the DNR, Kerry Wixted, to discuss some of the educational online programs, particularly Project WILD.
