Today on DelmarvaLife –

President and vice president of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Home and School Association, Nichole Behornar, and Heather Marinelli are joining us today. As a way to support the HSA’s Mission, Most Blessed Sacrament is holding a Family Fall Festival. This free, family-friendly event offers fun for everyone. There will be rides, games, vendors. There will also be hay and pony rides, carnival games and a rock wall. This year, several new attractions were added including a surfing challenge, gaming truck, an archery game, and laser tag. To help our friends in North Carolina, they are hosting a “Kiss Buddy the Donkey” contest. Participants can vote with donations for the teacher they want to see pucker up to kiss Buddy. All proceeds from this contest will be sent to St. Mark’s Catholic School in Wilmington, NC. There are over twenty families from the St. Mark’s school community that had major flood damage during Hurricane Florence. It’s all happening Friday, October 19th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the school in Berlin.
Martina Maya-Callen has put out a call for survivors of sexual assault. It’s for a piece of art she’s working on, to share their stories, to give them a voice. We’ll sit down with her, next, to hear what’s inspiring her passion.

Sydney is hanging out with the crew at the YMCA of the Chesapeake, and getting some advice on how to train for the Turkey Trot Charity 5k. You can run in one of six Turkey Trot Charity 5k locations on Maryland’s eastern shore.
That includes Queenstown, Cambridge, Easton, Salisbury, Chincoteague island and Perryville. Click Here to sign up for the Salisbury location.
We’re hanging out with Screech the owl! Screech will be one of the many animals you’ll get to meet at Halloween Happening at Salisbury Zoo. This event targets the kids who might not be a fan of scarier Halloween events. It’s on Saturday, October 13th and Saturday, October 20th from 1pm-4pm.

We’re also getting a very visual preview of this weekend’s Fiber Fest in Snow Hill. We’ll get a lesson on some of the more coveted fibers, and see some of the beauty you can make with them! Fiber Fest is from 10 to 4 at the Julia A. Purnell Museum in Snow Hill.
