Mike says that the success is due to great teachers, family environment, neat facility, and a really great curriculum called core knowledge.
Core knowledge is a content specific detail outline that starts with 2 and 3 year olds and goes through 8th grade. It ties fine arts and core subjects together and creates a consistent picture of knowledge all the way through 8th grade.
15 to 1 student-teacher ratio helps the teacher and the students. Students can have more attention and teacher can have more familiarity to them.
After the school days, Detmer walks the students to their parents car for safety which means a lot to parents.
Wicomico Day School Hours:
- 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with before and after care)
- 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. school day
