Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 21-year-old Felton man is dead after he was involved in a motorcycle accident Friday around 1 p.m. on SR 10 west of US 113 west of Dover.

According to police, a 2008 Nissan Altima operated by Poler M. Oliveros, 24, of Frederica, was attempting to cross over the westbound lane of SR 10 to enter the on ramp of SR 1 southbound near Dover Air Force Base. A 2005 Yamaha YFR operated by Tyler R. Pack, 21 of Felton, turned onto SR10 from US 113 southbound and weaved from the right lane in between vehicles in both lanes and accelerated westbound on SR 10. The motorcycle's front struck the passenger side of the Altima. After impact, police say the Altima slid to a stop in the middle of the road. Police say Pack was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road.

Delaware State Police say Pack was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  He was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Kent General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say Oliveros was not injured.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.

Police say the westbound lanes of SR 10 Lebanon Road in the area of the crash were closed for approximately 2.5 hours as the crash was investigated.
