Updated: List of Roads Closed on Delmarva Due to Flooding

Several roads on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and in Delaware continued to be impacted due to high water levels caused by last week's heavy rainfall.

Eastern Shore of Maryland

- According to the Maryland State Highway Administration, MD 346 East/West Bent Pine Road and Bell Avenue is closed due to high water

- MD 54 East at Rum Ridge Road is closed due to high water

- MD 12 East/West prior to River Street is closed due to high water

- MD 12 North/South at West Hills River is closed due to high water

Delaware

According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, SR 1 northbound and southbound between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach is currently closed.  Coastal flooding that can coincide with high tides during heavy storms is occurring in the area of the Indian River Inlet (Cullen Bridge).  If flooding in this area subsides with the next low tide, the road may reopen late this afternoon.  Motorists should be aware however, the road is likely to close again this evening when the tide is high at approximately 8 p.m. and remain closed until Saturday morning.

Southbound traffic on SR1 should detour around Delaware’s inland bays by exiting at SR 24 or further north at U.S. Route 113 in Milford.  Northbound traffic should detour around the bays by exiting SR 1 at SR 54 or SR 26.

The following roads are either closed due to high water or roadways are open to traffic with water in on the roadway and use caution:
