Connecticut Man Charged with Assaulting Delaware Capitol Police Officer

WILMINGTON, Del. - A Connecticut man has been arrested by Delaware Capitol Police and charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

According to police, Garnell Grant, 27, of New Haven, Conn., was arrested after he allegedly confronted his ex-girlfriend after a court hearing at the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center.

Grant who had pending charges of breach of release, violation of a protection from abuse order and terroristic threatening, allegedly refused to comply with the orders of police and resisted arrest.

While being taken into custody Grant allegedly assaulted a Delaware Capitol Police officer.

Grant was charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

He was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court and was released on 13,000 dollar secured bail.

The officer was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
