CAMBRIDGE/HURLOCK, MD - The Dorchester County Public Library has announced changes to two libraries’ operating hours due to safety worries and ongoing staffing issues.
The Public Library says the decision comes after an increase in potentially dangerous incidents at the libraries and within the community.
Citing the safety of library patrons and staff, Dorchester County Public Library says the Cambridge Branch will be open Monday through Saturday 9am-5pm beginning Monday, December 4th.
The Hurlock Branch is set to be open Monday-Wednesday 10am to 6 pm, and Thursdays 11am-7pm. The library will be closed Friday and Saturday.
“These changes will hopefully help minimize the splitting of staff that has led to increased library closures when short-staffed, as well,” the Dorchester County Public Library said in a social media post Monday. “We hope this is a temporary change and will continue to monitor the situation.”
