DAGSBORO, DE - Delaware State Police are conducting a death investigation after recovering a body from the Indian River where an unmanned boat was discovered Saturday.

According to police, DNREC units were alerted to an unoccupied boat on the Indian River Bay near Seagrass Plantation in Dagsboro on Saturday just after 2 p.m. A water search and rescue was launched after attempts to contact the registered owner were unsuccessful, police say, but no one was found. 

On Sunday, October 8th, the search was resumed and a body was recovered. Police say there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and there is no threat to the public. 

The victim has since been identified as Matthew Laudermilch, 47, of Annville, Pennsylvania. Delaware State Police say the victim's body was released to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

The death investigation is still ongoing, according to State Police.
