Fatal Crash in Frankford

CAMDEN, Del. - The Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that left one man dead on June 14th near Camden-Wyoming.

Police say that a Chevrolet Malibu was driving rapidly on Willow Grove Road Wednesday night around 9:15 p.m towards the intersection at Fivefoot Prong Lane. Upon entering a curve in the road, the driver of the Malibu reportedly lost control of the car and was propelled 300 feet off the roadway into a tree. The collision caused the car to catch fire, police say.

The driver, identified as Joseph Parkinson, 29, of Queen Anne, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers or other vehicles involved.

Police say Willow Grove Road was closed for about 4 hours on the night of the 14th as they investigated.
