It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erin Taylor, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving husband, son, and mother-in-law.
Erin was born on January 21, 1974, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Bob and Louise Cullinan, both of whom predeceased her.
Erin is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Taylor, whom she married on December 31, 2005. Together, they shared nearly 21 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Above all, they treasured raising their beloved son, Emmett, who was the center of Erin's world.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mark Cullinan and his wife, Gena, and Beth Morey and her husband, Gordon; her brother-in-law, Dean Taylor, and his wife, Becky; as well as her nieces and nephews, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A proud graduate of Paxton Consolidated School in Paxton, Nebraska, Erin went on to pursue her passion for education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in special education. During her college years, Erin lived in Christian Student Fellowship housing, where she formed lifelong friendships that remained an important part of her life. She treasured those friendships and the memories they created together.
Erin devoted more than 20 years of her life to educating and supporting students with special needs through public school systems in Kansas, Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland. Teaching was more than a profession for Erin-it was a calling. She cared deeply about her students and was committed to helping them learn, grow, and reach their potential.
In recent years, Erin served as an educational assistant at Cedar Chapel Special School in Snow Hill, Maryland. Her patience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her students touched the lives of many. She gave generously of herself, and her impact will continue to be felt by the students, families, and colleagues whose lives she touched.
Erin was a woman of strong faith and was an active member of Spence Baptist Church for 13 years. Her faith provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life. She especially cherished the fellowship, friendship, and Bible studies she shared with those close to her at church.
Kindness was at the heart of who Erin was. She was thoughtful, generous with her time, and always willing to help others. She faced life's challenges with courage and strength, meeting difficult moments with grace, resilience, and an enduring faith.
Erin found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time outdoors, attending concerts, and, most of all, being with family and friends. She also had a special place in her heart for the family dog, Benny. She cherished their walks together and the companionship he brought into her life.
Those who knew Erin will remember her not only for the many things she accomplished, but for the way she made people feel-loved, cared for, and valued. Her warmth, compassion, faith, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A service to honor and celebrate Erin's life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holloway Funeral Home, located at 107 Vine St., Pocomoke City, Maryland. The Visitation will be at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Erin's memory to Coastal Hospice in Salisbury, Maryland, Spence Baptist Church, or the Newark Volunteer Fire Company.
Erin Taylor leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, faith, and dedication. Her life touched countless people, and the memories she created with her family, friends, students, and colleagues will remain treasured. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
