With deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Jerry L. Bowden on June 2, 2026.

Jerry was a hardworking, kind-hearted man who never met a stranger. He spent his entire life working in construction, taking great pride in his work. No job was ever too big or too small, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors. When he wasn't working, Jerry enjoyed spending time in his workshop with his music playing, working on various projects, or spending a relaxing day at the beach-some of the places where he was happiest.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Bowden; his parents, Charles and Rada Bowden; and his brother, Charles Bowden.

He leaves behind his children, Diane Linton, Mary Gale Smith (Timmy), Deborah Cocke, Tracey Bowden, and Jennifer Gallo (Brandon); his sisters, Janet Bowden and Wanda Mumford; his devoted companion, Robin Travers; and his dear friend, Jackie.

He was a proud grandfather to Jessica (Duane), Kevin (Brooke), Buddy, Zoe, Brayden, and Luke, and a loving great-grandfather to McKenna, Bo, and Jacoby.

Family was the center of Jerry's world. He loved spending time with those he cared about, sharing stories, laughter, and making memories that will be cherished forever. His legacy of hard work, generosity, and love will live on through all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared by the family.

Jerry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
