Joseph Clayton Bednar, Jr., better known as Joe, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Dianne Memorie Ward and Joseph Clayton Bednar, Sr. He received his early education through the Baltimore City Public School System and Catholic schools. Joe worked alongside his father on the assembly line at General Motors in downtown Baltimore before pursuing a long and dedicated career in public service. He retired as a Correctional Officer Major for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Joe had a curious mind and an early passion for technology, often spending his time building computers as a hobby.
