Lost Office Opens First Neuroscience-Informed Offsite Space in Richmond, VA

Office Space for Teams in Richmond, VA

Henrico, United States - July 11, 2026 / Lost Office Collaborative /

Lost Office Collaborative has opened its doors in Richmond, Virginia, introducing the region’s first neuroscience-informed offsite space — a full-service facility designed to help professional teams think more clearly, collaborate more effectively, and accomplish more in their time together.

The space, situated at 5000 Old Main Street along the James River, spans multiple reservable rooms and shared environments totaling over three thousand square feet. It is not a conventional event venue or a coworking space, but a dedicated team offsite destination — one where the physical environment itself is treated as a tool for cognitive performance.

“Most offices were designed for work modes, not helping our brains work better,” said Christian Markow, founder of Lost Office Collaborative. “The gap between where teams are expected to do their best thinking and the environments that actually support that kind of thinking is significant. We built Lost Office to close that gap.”

A Facility Designed Around How You Think

The design philosophy behind Lost Office Collaborative draws on research in environmental psychology and cognitive science — fields that examine how physical surroundings influence attention, creative output, emotional regulation, and collaborative behavior. The result is a facility where decisions about acoustics, lighting, materiality, and spatial layout are grounded in evidence rather than aesthetics alone.

Biophilic design elements are woven throughout the space, including organic materials, natural light, and extensive indoor plants. Studies have consistently linked nature-integrated environments to measurable reductions in stress and improvements in sustained focus and generative thinking.

Reservable Spaces for Teams of Every Size

The facility offers several distinct, reservable environments, each configured for different team sizes and session types.

The Enclave is the facility’s largest dedicated workspace — 1,800 square feet of customizable, multi-modal space accommodating up to 50 for working sessions and 90 in theater configuration. Equipped with a 133” 4K laser-projected screen, presenter-tracking camera, PA system, power banks, variable lighting, and a fully stocked supply wall, it supports custom room layouts suited to everything from interactive workshops and board meetings to keynote presentations and onboarding sessions.

The Flat offers a 940 square foot boardroom-meets-living-room environment accommodating up to 18 for working sessions and 40 theater-style. Anchored by a 5K 105” anamorphic touchscreen display with integrated camera and sound, The Flat is designed for executive teams, strategic planning sessions, and smaller-group workshops that benefit from a less formal, more conversational atmosphere.

The Huddle provides a private meeting room for smaller groups of up to six — suited for focused working sessions, check-ins, and confidential conversations that require separation from larger group activity.

Shared spaces include a Coffee Bar and Library that serve as social and breakout environments throughout the day, offering teams room to decompress, reset, and shift cognitive modes between structured sessions.

All reservations include high-speed secure Wi-Fi, hybrid-ready A/V technology, digital and physical whiteboards, complimentary meeting supplies, premium coffee and beverages, and free on-site parking.

Full-Service Hospitality and Programming

Lost Office Collaborative is a turn-key offsite experience. In addition to the physical space, the facility offers hospitality coordination services — including catering from vetted local partners, menu and dietary coordination, vendor scheduling, and on-site service management — so that teams can focus on the work rather than the logistics.

For organizations seeking more than a venue, Lost Office also offers WorkLabs: practitioner-led, immersive workshop experiences designed to produce tangible outputs. WorkLabs are organized into three tracks. CreationLabs guide teams through innovation and concept development, from insight explorations and ideation sessions to multi-day innovation sprints. CoLabs focus on strategy and alignment, helping leadership teams move from competing priorities to shared direction. HumanLabs develop the creative and collaborative capabilities — communication, critical thinking, adaptability — that are increasingly essential in an AI-augmented work environment.

While its physical facility is located in Richmond, its WorkLab programming is delivered globally, with engagements designed and facilitated anywhere a team needs them.

Serving the Richmond Business Community and Beyond

Lost Office Collaborative is positioned to serve Richmond-area organizations seeking a dedicated offsite environment without requiring out-of-state travel, as well as regional and national companies for whom a Richmond destination makes logistical and experiential sense.

The facility is located at 5000 Old Main Street in Henrico, Virginia — a setting that offers both proximity to the Richmond business community and meaningful separation from the downtown office environments where most teams spend the majority of their working hours.

Operating hours run 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with early set-up arrival from 8:00 a.m. and tear-down departure accommodated through 5:30 p.m.
