Pine, Arizona, USA - August 15, 2026 - Pine-Strawberry Fuel Reduction will host the 2026 Fire on the Rim Mountain Bike Race on Saturday, September 12, in Pine, Arizona. Featuring 15-, 30-, and 45-mile mountain bike courses, the annual event raises funds for wildfire prevention, trail advocacy, and new trail development throughout Arizona’s Rim Country.
Fire on the Rim welcomes competitive mountain bikers, recreational riders, families, spectators, and businesses interested in supporting forest resilience. The race begins and ends near Bradshaw Drive and Old County Road in Pine, with the first riders departing at 7:30 a.m. The race begins and ends near Bradshaw Drive and Old County Road in Pine, with the first riders departing at 7:30 a.m. Race Director Chain Ma with Ghost Head Productions will oversee the race.
Nestled beneath the Mogollon Rim within the Tonto National Forest, participants will ride through mountain terrain and sections of the Pine-Strawberry trail system, including updated course reroutes designed to offer improved scenery and fewer rocky sections. Riders registered for the 45-mile course may transition to the 30-mile distance after completing two laps, allowing them to adjust their race safely while still being recognized among the 30-mile finishers. Riders registered for the 30-mile course may also transition to the 15-mile distance and be recognized among the 15-mile finishers.
“Fire on the Rim gives riders a chance to experience the trails and forests that our organization works so hard to protect,” said Sabrina Mitchell, event director for Pine-Strawberry Fuel Reduction. “Every registration, sponsorship, donation, and volunteer hour helps us continue important wildfire education, fuel reduction, and trail work. It is a powerful reminder that protecting forest communities takes all of us," added Sabrina Mitchell.
Race day activities will also include a kids' race, awards ceremony, and the popular return of the Beer and Burgers community dinner. Breakfast burritos will also be available for purchase to help riders and spectators fuel up on race morning. Limited weekend camping will be available near the event venue, with additional dispersed camping available in the nearby Tonto National Forest.
The complete racecourse will be marked and available for independent pre-rides on August 29 and 30 and September 5 and 6. These dates provide riders with access to sections of private ranch land that are otherwise closed outside the designated pre-ride weekends and race day.
Businesses and organizations may support Fire on the Rim through monetary or in-kind sponsorships. Sponsorship opportunities range from supporting donor recognition to prominent event placement, vendor space, promotional features, and recognition across event materials and announcements.
Event proceeds support Pine-Strawberry Fuel Reduction’s work to reduce wildfire risk, maintain local trails, provide free wildfire education, and operate a community brush pit where Rim Country residents can dispose of yard brush and trimmings at no charge.
