Robotimize and St Luke’s Hospital have signed an MOU to advance a technology-enabled Rehabilitation Centre of Excellence in Singapore.
SINGAPORE, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Robotimize Group and St Luke’s Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance a technology-enabled Rehabilitation Centre of Excellence, formalised during the MotusAcademy × REHACARE Asia Leadership Forum at Medical Fair Asia 2026 in Singapore. The partnership marks a significant step for both organisations, bringing together a health technology company and an established community hospital around a shared focus on making rehabilitation technology part of everyday, sustainable care rather than a one-off pilot. The MOU was signed during “From Pilot to Practice: Closing Asia’s Rehabilitation Technology Adoption Gap,” a leadership forum organised by MotusAcademy and chaired by Zen Koh, Scientific Advisor at Robotimize Group. The session examined why many rehabilitation technologies show early promise in pilot settings but struggle to become routine, sustainable care, bringing together clinical, health-system, research, community and innovation perspectives from invited speakers including Adjunct A/Prof Loh Yong Joo, Professor Tan Boon Yeow, Dr Hsiao-ju (Rita) Cheng and Ms Goh Shi Min. It was against that backdrop that Robotimize and St Luke’s Hospital chose to formalise their own partnership, rather than treating the forum purely as a discussion exercise.
The collaboration is aimed at advancing a technology-enabled Rehabilitation Centre of Excellence, supporting more intensive and personalised rehabilitation while developing new approaches intended to benefit patients across the wider community. Its scope includes capability-building, research and technology adoption, with applications spanning day rehabilitation, gym-based programmes, frailty, neurological conditions and post-acute deconditioning, areas that already sit close to the core of what St Luke’s Hospital provides. Rather than centring on a single device or pilot programme, the MOU sets out a broader, longer-term basis for the two organisations to work together across multiple areas of rehabilitation care, with the expectation that lessons learned in one area can inform how the partnership develops in another.
