Scholastic Gateway sets membership at $500 per year, and allows new schools to play an entire season before purchasing one.
MO, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Scholastic Gateway today announced membership pricing ahead of its inaugural fall 2026 high school season. Membership is $500 per school, per year, and gives schools unlimited teams, unlimited students, and access to every tournament on the platform.
The pricing is simple. One annual fee. No per-tournament passes, no per-player charges, and no caps on how many students you can invite to play in Scholastic Gateway tournaments. A school pays the same predictable amount whether they plan to have five or 50 students compete. Members also get access to Scholastic Gateway's growing network of partners.
New schools joining Scholastic Gateway for the first time will be allowed to play their first season completely free before committing to an annual membership. This structure is deliberate. Schools have been asked to trust scholastic esports organizations before, and that trust has not always been repaid, so Scholastic Gateway is opening it's doors for schools to try SGHS for a full season before being asked to make a financial commitment.
"I don't think it's a secret that scholastic gaming has a trust problem, and understandably so. Venture capital calling the shots, executives who don't care about esports, prize money that never got paid. We get it. That's why schools play their first season with Scholastic Gateway completely free. We aren't owed trust. It is on us to earn it," said Brennan Wright, Co-Founder and Chief Experience Officer.
Scholastic Gateway was built by the original team behind High School Esports League and Middle School Esports League. It has taken no venture capital and is not seeking outside investment, which allows it to build for student experience rather than revenue targets. Those are commitments the company has made, and Scholastic Gateway is asking the schools it serivces to test them.

The inaugural Scholastic Gateway High School (SGHS) season is open for registration. Preseason begins September 14th and the regular season commences September 28th.
The league will run Apex Legends, Brawlhalla, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Chess, GeoGuessr, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Madden 26, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Splatoon 3, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Valorant.
