At least 18 migrants have died trying to reach the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, where Spain has deployed its military after thousands breached the border with Morocco. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is expected to visit Ceuta on Friday morning. Rachid Sbihi, leading a local workers association, described the situation as a serious humanitarian crisis. Thousands of migrants, including unaccompanied children, are without shelter, sleeping in parks and sidewalks. Many of the deceased drowned, while others were killed in a stampede at Tarajal beach. Video footage shows crowds, mainly Moroccans, entering the area.
