Argentina has designated five Latin American criminal and guerrilla groups, including Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, as terrorist organizations. This aligns with U.S. security policies. President Javier Milei’s government announced the decision Thursday. The move follows the U.S. expanding its list of Latin American criminal groups designated as foreign terrorist organizations. Argentina’s new designations include Mexico’s Nueva Familia Michoacana cartel and Ecuador’s Los Tiguerones gang. The measure also targets Colombia’s National Liberation Army and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army. Milei’s office said the groups are linked to drug trafficking and organized crime.
