Ongoing beach replenishment efforts at the Roosevelt Inlet in Lewes Beach are on track to conclude by next week, according to Army Corps of Engineers spokesperson Steve Rochette. Despite facing recent storms, and expected storms this weekend, the project, which commenced several weeks ago, has progressed significantly. 

Dredging is underway in the Wicomico River.

OCEAN CITY, Md. -- The Army Corp of Engineers have officially decided to not move forward with a permanent solution for Ocean City's Inlet. The channels dynamic environment causes shoal to buildup, but the Army Corp felt dredging was the better and cheaper solution. 

FENWICK ISLAND, De. -- The Army Corp of Engineers began their beach replenishment in Fenwick Island this week. It was music to the ears for neighbors, business owners and town officials who were expecting the work to start in July. 

OCEAN CITY, Md. -- On Wednesday morning, a 75-foot commercial vessel ran aground on its approach to the commercial dock in West Ocean City. The captain and crew say if the channel was dredged properly, this would not have happened.
