Traditionally, they are not known to spread diseases, but a recent study suggests they might be capable of transmitting an antibiotic-resistant infection called MRSA. Bedbugs have become more resistant to pesticides, making infestations harder to control. Experts advise preventing infestations by checking hotel rooms and inspecting secondhand items.
