Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has signed an executive order to counter the Trump administration's plan to send federal officers into the city. Johnson calls President Donald Trump's plan a threat by an “out-of-control administration.” The order directs city departments to protect residents' constitutional rights. It prevents the Chicago Police Department from collaborating with federal authorities on patrols, immigration enforcement, or conducting traffic stops and checkpoints. The order also restricts officers from wearing face coverings to hide their identities. Johnson demands that President Trump stand down any plans to deploy the National Guard to Chicago.
