Cuba has welcomed home a diplomat expelled by the United States after a heated confrontation at the United Nations this week. Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver shared a photo of Richard Tur de la Concepción at Havana’s airport. The U.S. State Department announced Tur’s expulsion, accusing him of shoving an American diplomat and trying to snatch his phone. The incident escalated into a shouting match between U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez. Tensions have deepened since U.S. President Donald Trump imposed an energy blockade on Cuba in January.
