The Wicomico County Council has approved a budget amendment allowing the county to pay nearly $287,000 to the State of Maryland as its share of compensation awarded to a Salisbury man who was wrongfully convicted and later exonerated.

The panel that sets Delaware’s official government revenue forecast increased its estimate for the current year by more than $172 million at its final meeting of the year Monday.

Members of a Delaware legislative committee are set to convene this week to consider Democratic Gov. John Carney's proposed capital budget for construction, transportation and economic development.
