Officials in Maryland say a 13-year-old boy died after getting trapped in a storm drain during heavy rainfall and flooding on the East Coast. A Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company spokesperson says kids were playing in the rain Thursday in a common area between apartment buildings when floodwaters rushed into the area. The boy was swept into the pipe and the water pressure was too strong to pull him out. By the time he was freed from the pipe, it was too late. The National Weather Service warns that more storms may bring flooding to the northern mid-Atlantic and southern New England through Friday night.
