Goldman Sachs' former top lawyer Kathryn Ruemmler is testifying as part of the House's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Ruemmler also served as White House counsel in President Barack Obama's administration. Her testimony Wednesday to the House Oversight Committee comes after thousands of documents released by the Justice Department showed an extensive relationship between her and Epstein. She tried to downplay her relationship in more recent statements, calling him a “monster.” While Ruemmler announced in February that she would step down from Goldman Sachs on June 30, she remains an employee at the company.
