A piece of the Ocean City skyline will not return this summer. Trampers Ferris Wheel is gone for the season. In June, the Ferris wheel came down because of a zoning violation. It was brought back up before being taken down again July 18th. The owner of the Ferris wheel, Michael Wood with Biggest Wheel LLC says the wheel has to leave Ocean City because of contractual obligations.

The Trimper's Big Ferris Wheel is set to be in operation again by Saturday according to its owners. Michael Wood of Wood Entertainment told WBOC Tuesday crews have begun construction to move the wheel about 11 feet to the west. That construction involves moving three rides out of the way -- one of them permanently.

Sticking out 10-feet over the boardwalk, the multi-colored Ferris Wheel baskets are violating Ocean City zoning codes. At Monday night's council meeting, Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan says he believes Trimper's Rides placed the Ferris Wheel over their property line to gain more attraction.
