Charles Bierbauer, a former CNN White House correspondent and journalism dean, has died at 83. He died Friday at his home in North Carolina. Bierbauer's journalism career began in Pennsylvania and included notable achievements such as winning an Overseas Press Club Award in 1973 and serving as president of the White House Correspondents Association. He spent two decades at CNN, covering major political events and hosting a current affairs program. Later, he became the first dean of the University of South Carolina's College of Information and Communications. Bierbauer was remembered as a distinguished broadcaster and educator, leaving a lasting impact on journalism and academia.
