FBI Director Kash Patel has filed a $250 million lawsuit against The Atlantic magazine and its reporter Sarah Fitzpatrick, contending its article posted last week that talked about his alleged excessive drinking was a “malicious hit piece.” Patel denied allegations that his drinking had affected his job in the Trump administration. The Atlantic said it stood by Fitzpatrick's reporting and that it would defend itself against the “meritless lawsuit.” Patel said the magazine had a grudge against him because it has written in the past about his job being in jeopardy. The lawsuit was filed Monday in district court in Washington.
