Candace Parker’s basketball journey has come full circle. It started at the University of Tennessee in 2004. It included two national titles, three WNBA crowns, two WNBA MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. Saturday night, Parker was one of eight inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville. Others included players Elena Delle Donne, Amaya Valdemoro and Isabelle Fijalkowski; coaches Cheryl Reeve and Kim Muhl; television analyst Doris Burke; and posthumous veteran honoree Barbara Kennedy-Dixon.
