Authorities were looking into whether a private jet clipped a power line before it crashed in San Diego. The crash early Thursday morning killed multiple people on board, damaging homes and igniting cars in the U.S. military’s largest housing neighborhood. The crash is under investigation by the federal National Transportation Safety Board and occurred just before 4 a.m., in heavy fog. It was in a suburban neighborhood of single-family residences and townhomes and appeared to damage about 10 homes. One home had a charred and collapsed roof. Authorities said two people died.
