Evergreen High School has introduced two Labradors, Norene and Polenta, to help students cope with stress after a school shooting. The dogs, part of a program by Canine Companions, provide a calming presence as students heal. Principal Skylar Artes decided to make support dogs a permanent fixture after seeing their positive impact. The dogs were even crowned prince and princess at a recent homecoming game. Students say the dogs brighten their days and help them focus. Artes plans to continue the program, highlighting the unconditional love and support the dogs provide.
