Fenwick Island and Sussex County have launched a new lawsuit against the State of Delaware, arguing state lawmakers overstepped in passing two laws to greenlight a controversial offshore wind-related project.

A Delaware Superior Court judge has put a pause on the legal battle over Sussex County Council’s decision to block a key electrical substation tied to the US Wind offshore project, citing new state laws that could ultimately override the county’s vote.

Renewable Redevelopment. LLC, a subsidiary of alternative energy company US Wind, has filed an appeal in Delaware Superior Court challenging Sussex County’s denial of a planned electric substation near Millsboro.
