Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will spend Monday trying to shake-up his campaign after losing the first round of national elections to Flávio Bolsonaro. The son of former President Jair Bolsonaro will speak to politicians seeking to secure a win in the Oct. 25 runoff. Neither major candidate secured an absolute majority on Sunday, with Bolsonaro’s lead not anticipated by recent polls. Flávio Bolsonaro had 47% against Lula’s 45% in the first round of voting. The winner of Brazil’s first round of voting has never lost an election, though never before has the second-placed candidate been so close in the results.
