Delaware Governor Matt Meyer has signed Senate Bill 176 into law, authorizing Sussex County officials to impose a school impact fee on new building permits.
Sussex County council members voted 4-1 to explore a potential countywide school impact fee Tuesday. If finalized, the fee would impose a cost on development projects, to in turn help fund school expansion projects, according to state education officials.
