Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth
Island...
Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA...
Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...

* Until 1030 PM EST.

* At 828 PM EST, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Greenwell State Park to near Coles Point to 17
nm south of Westmoreland State Park, moving northeast at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.

* Locations impacted include...
Greenwell State Park, Breton Bay, Hooper Island Light, Saint
Clements Bay, Piney Point, Deep Hole, Mouth Of The Potomac River,
Southwest Middle Grounds, Cuckold Creek, Cobb Island, Point
Lookout, Tall Timbers, Coltons Point, Drum Point, Nomini Bay, Coles
Point, Saint George Island, Point No Point, Wicomico River, and
Calvert Cliffs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather
Service.

...SPORADIC GUSTY WINDS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING...

Sporadic gusty winds shifting to out of the west with gusts of 20
to 30 knots are possible this evening, especially in and near any
thunderstorms that develop. Mariners should use extreme caution if
navigating the waters this evening. Be alert for possible Special
Marine Warnings, as some thunderstorms may produce hail and wind
gusts to gale force.

TO MIDNIGHT EST MONDAY NIGHT...
...GALE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH
TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 25
kt with gusts up to 30 kt expected. For the Gale Watch, west
winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and waves 2 to 4 ft
possible.

* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay main channel north of Smith Point VA,
Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA, Chester
River to Queenstown MD, Eastern Bay, Choptank River to
Cambridge MD and the Little Choptank River, and Tangier Sound
and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 10 PM this evening
to midnight EST Monday night. For the Gale Watch, from late
Monday night through Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
