Drone strikes have knocked out power substations in the northern Sudanese towns of Al-Dabbah and Abu Hamad. It's the latest in a week of attacks on electricity infrastructure across army-held areas that Sudan’s government and a rights group blame on the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The attack happened Sunday. Since late Wednesday, drones have hit at least six power facilities, including the country’s largest thermal plant, leaving millions without electricity and water and threatening hospitals, bakeries and farming. The Merowe Dam now produces more than 70% of Sudan’s power, an electricity company employee says.
