U.S. officials have warned Middle East allies to prepare for potential renewed military action against Iran after the U.S. midterm elections. That's according to two diplomats familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity. President Donald Trump has not made a final decision but has suggested action could follow the elections. Regional officials were also warned to be on alert for potential retaliation from Iran and its proxies. The Pentagon recently deployed additional troops and ships to the Persian Gulf. They are expected to arrive in the region soon after Election Day in the United States.
