A federal appeals court has allowed the Trump administration to resume carrying out speedy deportations of undocumented migrants across the United States. A divided three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Tuesday threw out a lower court ruling that temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s expanded use of expedited removal. The Republican president wants to quickly remove more migrants from the country illegally without appearing before a judge first. The policy has previously been applied to migrants caught near the border shortly after crossing. U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb suggested in an August ruling that the expansion was trampling on individuals’ due process rights.
