Pope Leo XIV has returned to a sanctuary where he prayed just after his election. During a visit Monday to the Our Mother of Good Counsel sanctuary, Leo unveiled a permanent sign of his devotion to the place. He unveiled a fresco depicting him praying that now adorns an upper cornice of the basilica. Leo displayed the portrait before celebrating Mass with his fellow Augustinian brothers at the Sanctuary in the medieval village of Genazzano south of Rome. It's a place that has special meaning to his Augustinian religious order and to Leo himself.
