Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have struck a military camp for government forces in southern Yemen, killing at least 20 soldiers. Two Yemeni military officials said the rebels fired ballistic missiles on the al-Alam military camp in Shabwa province on Monday. The attack also wounded at least two dozen troops. It is one of the deadliest attacks in a recent surge in fighting that began months ago, shattering a 2022 ceasefire deal in Yemen’s civil war. It follows a weekend airstrike blamed on Saudi-led forces that killed at least nine people.
