Our next guest tells us that her favorite saying is “happiness is a choice.”
That’s the lesson she said she learned while taking the trip of a lifetime. Kirsten Cerbone joins us in Historic Studio D to tell us how she biked across the country and raised money and awareness for young adults living with cancer.

Kirsten biked from Baltimore, Md. to San Diego, Cal. in 2014. She decided to sign up for this bike ride after the Ulman Cancer Fund was visiting her school, Towson University. Kirsten’s aunt Kathy was diagnosed with cancer and she wasn’t able to be there during her cancer journey so she dedicated her bike ride to her during the 4K for Cancer. Her Aunt Kathy is now a cancer survivor.
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community
She’s gearing up for another trip from Baltimore to Key West, Fl. During this 7-day bike ride, they will be stopping by cancer centers and communities telling them about the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and how their services can help them.
The ride starts on April 14 and goes until April 21. If you are interested in taking this trip with Kirsten, apply here.

There is also a live auction taking place at Southern Belle Barn on March 25. 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Ulman Cancer Fund. Read more about the event here.
