Every year, thousands of spectators flock to Chincoteague to watch the annual Pony Swim. For those unfamiliar with the Pony Swim, ponies from Chincoteague Island swim to Assateague Island to be auctioned off. For the first time since World War II, the annual Pony Swim will not take place. This year would have been the Pony Swims 95th year. We talk with Chincoteague Volunter Fire Company Public Relations Officer, Denise Bowden, to discuss the impact of the cancellation on Chincoteague.
