Around spring time, we hear about many senior proms taking place at local high schools. But have you ever heard of an actual “senior prom”?
The Manor House in Seaford, Del. held its 3rd Annual Senior Prom event last weekend on Saturday, Feb. 20. The event was a huge success with more than 30 residents in attendance. Many of them were up on their feet dancing and really enjoying their night.
A prom king and queen were crowned as well. The couple crowned has been married for 63 years!
The Key Club is an afterschool club at Seaford Senior High School in Seaford, Del. It has helped make this event a success the past few years. The members of the club volunteer around the community and in the school. The club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Chapter of Seaford.
“We enjoy giving back to our community,” Key Club Publicity Secretary Sierra Snigier said, “By helping them relive a night from their younger years or maybe a night they never got to have.”
The members of the club said they enjoyed listening to the residents’ stories of their past and shared their own stories as well.
Sierra says the club hopes this project will grow and they are looking forward to the 4th Annual Senior Prom.
